New antenna mast for my 93 LC

Hi all, well let me start with my wife, she drove our LC into the garage and forgot to lower the antenna, yeah you guess it.
The antenna bent back a ways and now will not go completley down, I tried as best as I could but no luck.

So I bought a new mast and it arrived the other day, yesterday I took off the chrome nut, then the plastic do hickey, but I'm stuck, I can't remove the antenna mast from the base. I see where there is a thread at the end of the mast but it's not turning, is there a trick to this?

Sorry, I tried reading through the threads, but can't find anything about where the old mast detaches!! :whoops:

Be very careful with that nut, I broke mine off recently when I removed my broken antenna mast. Had to order a whole new white string from cdan. I would be very patient with a couple of pliers one holding the broken antenna mast and the other nut itself.

Thanks Biff for the reply, I did what you said and got the sucker off. All I had to do was post at this forum, must be Murphy's law!!
