The trucks are nice, but that's some pretty lame wheeling. Reminds me of a jeep commercial. Thanks for posting it though.

Lol, some of you guys are obsessed with hating on Jeeps, why can't you just appreciate them just because they are a 4x4 vehicle? (not to mention the fact that Jeep basically invented 4x4 vehicles as we know them today). I love all 4x4s, be it Toyotas, Jeeps, Nissan, Ford, Chevy, Land Rover...it doesn't matter what brand they are.

So stop hating and start loving :grinpimp: .

I loved the video, it finally gave me a chance to see the new facelift in action.

great work man its a real shame that we cant get new machines like that here,

At the risk of stirring the LC vs. everyone else out there pot, that Defender video really shows some awesome wheeling. I guess it goes to show what these vehicles can take. I mean all the HD units - yes Defenders, too.

Of coarse it matters what brand they are. I've owned or driven them all and nothing comes close to a Landcruiser, especially heeps.

I have been out wheeling with a lot of different rigs.
Straight up, I am Toyota and Suzuki fan through and through.

Don't care to much for Jeeps (they break easy when modded, and you need to upgrade to much when building them). But I don't complain about where they go. They are fully offroad capable.

Also, congrats to Jeep for still building a SFA rig with coils factory lockers! And at a price a normal person can afford. Toyota dropped out of that race a long time ago. While Toyota might do the bulk of carrying the 4x4ing in other parts of the world, Jeep does own North America. Perhaps, we don't like them for whatever reason, but in one way, or another, we own them or respect. They did what Toyota will not in North America.

Suzuki's are also a lot cheaper, to buy, build and run, and they go just as many places.
Depends on the terrain which rig will excel, and how they are built etc...
But both rigs are fully offroad capable.

So yeah, cruisers are awesome. Come pretty built, and come tuff, and are reliable, and have space, and good offroad.
They got a lot going for them. But there are other nice rigs out there too.
Jeeps cost a lot to build, and cruisers cost a lot to buy. Everything has pro's and con's.

Cheers,
Nick :)

I been told that the track is wider , than the older 70s, but is the body also wider?

Track is 80mm wider, chassis 50mm wider at the front. Feels wider driving it and due to that extra width appears to be more stable conering and on the angle. Certainly feels more stable than my old 1HZ flatdeck. From the windscreen forward its new, from the windscreen back its the same as the 79 series ( turbo model) Some slight changes in the cabin. No hand throttle, I guess due it being "fly by wire" Has a "idle up" button instead. No switch to engage Hi 4. All done now on the transfer lever. Move lever straight down for Hi4, slight lift and down again for low 4. Not that you really need low 4. I think theres enough mumbo to do most 4 Whellin in high box if you were brave enough, just a matter of how fast you want to do it.
