Hi,l broke one of the little carbon or brass contact in the front electric locking hubs of the HZJ77,they are two contacts on the outer hubs like the contacts on a starter motor, supplies power to a little motor to lock the front hubs,(don't like it at all)looking for part numbers for the contacts ,may be they come with the little electric motor.
Thanks

You have to buy the whole assembly, i think i was quoted 5-700 cdn in japan. You can't just get the motor or brushes. Maybe someone on here has some parts from a retrofit?

I have had 2 manual hub retorfits to do away with those electric things.

Might sound a bit out there, but you could try a hobby shop that deals with RC cars, take one of the old ones down and see if they can closely match one up,if the new one is to big width, length wise they can be sanded down to fit, they can be bought with just the brush or with a small copper wire attached..Could you post up a picture of the original one, maybe some demensions?
Also check in the yellow pages under electric motor repairs,we have a local company that can make up brushes any size or shape.

Thanks Louis and Jimmy, did some research looks like the electric hubs are not very reliable,LOUIS,did you go the oldblue way or the hilux/older hubs way?

It was for 2 customers trucks, went manual - kits from japan. I like OEM no messing around kind of stuff if I can.

I just removed a front end from one of the trucks and replaced it with an older front end - so now he doesn't need his hub conversion anymore - not sure if he wants to part with them though - I can aski if you like. I know that they were only installed a few months ago and were never even locked as he doesn't offroad.

The hilux hubs won't fit - these are bigger hubs - they cost 580 each from toyota!

Hi Louis,
it is for a customer's truck,l'll ask if he want those hubs,l think he wanted to convert to old style using mine trucks part.
