I need the power window relay for my 1989 FJ62. I went through the FM procedure and it calls for a replacement.
3 of 4 windows will work without the relay plugged in but nothing with it connected. Is there a method of testing the relay on a bench?
I saw a new one for sale on eBay - $417!! Is there a way to bypass the relay and make another from modern parts?

If you have a new one for a reasonable price, please let me know. If you have a used one that is functioning, I'll take that too.

Thanks for your help!

There’s a good thread on MUD - basically, the relays inside just to be desoldered, replaced, and re-soldered. It takes about 10 minutes and costs about $10. I’ll see if I can dig it up tomorrow.

I can check my stash to see if I have one

Here ya go.

Buy two NTE relays (P/N R46-5D12-12), desolder the old ones, solder these in and more than likely you are good to go.

Pro tip: use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the 30 year old plastic box, it'll help to not snap the tabs off.

Message me if you need help.

I don’t have one
