Mounting channels for 40's have been discontinued by Ramsey, seems simple enough to fab. Before I throw something together anybody got pics of their mounts in case I forget to address something.

This is what I did. It's a Con-Ferr 8274 winch bumper from $OR and a Ramsey Pro Plus 8000. We had to elongate the holes about 1/4" or a bit more to get the winch to fit between the frame rails and we opened up the cable opening in the back of the plate for the lower location of the winch now. We also had to notch the triangular bumper gussetts as you can see in the pics. All in all not too big of a job, just a lot of measuring and head scratching beforehand. Oh yeah, we also took 5" off each end, cut 45 deg. angles and capped them.

Last pic... I really like this mount. It keeps the winch out of the way and doesn't block airflow to the radiator. It gets a lot of attention too :D

Thanks, that looks good, never thought of that angle, easier to fab too.

Just put my HFS bumper and my new to me 8274 on today, now just need to get my synth line on.
I had a warn m8000 on a winch plate before this. I'll take a pic of that tomorrow if it will help.

Thanks guys, found this at CCOT. Anybody got any comments on them, good or bad?

I've always liked CCOT and don't have any complaints about that set-up.

Hell; ask Nolan G. He field tested it!!! Think it's WNGROG or something on here...just go to the Hard Core thread, you'll find him.

Tlhis is the plate that ccot offers. A Ramsey 8000 is mounted underneath. The box on top is a modified "between the rails". Has gloves, remote contol, straps, inside. Also the bolts holding the winch are inside the box. A little harder to steal.

That's pretty clever, looks like a plan.
