A Machine Shop Destroyed The Bearing Retainer Pressing The Bearing On My Prado Was Already Down For 2 Weeks Waiting For Parts They Wil Be Paying For It But I Cant Wait
If You Get A Jdm Better Get A Second Vehicle

It must be a Prado thing. I've found almost all the parts needed to maintain my JDM 70 series from the local parts stores or the local Toyota dealer, or 4Wheel Auto in Edmonton. 60 series were imported into Canada till the mid 80's and most 70 series parts are the same.

if i was to do it again i would have got a leaf sprung 77 you would think that most of the axle parts should be the same even though my prado is areal 4.5 out of5 it is too hard to sell now because it has a wonderful 2lte11 im chocked never again now im stuck

I've done a fair bit of work on my LJ78 running gear as well, and have yet to find a part that didn't cross over to either the 60, 70, 80 series cruisers or the mini truck. Get yourself an EPC (do a search on this forum if you don't know what that is) and learn how to find your own part numbers. The EPC will help you cross-reference the part # to other toyota vehicles, often NA spec ones. Then you take that number to the dealer, no probs.

Seriously though, you bought a vehicle that was never sold in North America...did you expect it to be a breeze to find parts? Look at it as a hobby. You've pretty much got to be willing to put in the time and effort to keep the thing running, or it's going to get frustrating and/or expensive. Having a second vehicle definitely doesn't hurt...

thaks for the encouragement Robin it seems like you can get parts immediatly for everything else but prados and in vancouver they seem to be most popular
anyways enough WHINING I reciieved a message from JOHN AT ROCKY MOUNTAIN IMPORTS HE COULD HAVE ONE FOR ME BY MONDAY

EPC is a great tool... it's finding a good source to download it the tricky part. And it doesn't work on a MAC.
