I discovered I have a quarter size hole in my muffler so I’m looking to replace it in the next week or two. Any recommendations on what to go with that would be close to OEM? Price is not really an issue but I’d like the most out of my dollar. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I went with the Bosal as well. Did mine last year and it seems to be holding up well. It went in easily, everything lined up etc.

^^^This.
If you are looking for something similar to OEM but not OEM then Walker always seems to be the go to, even on the 60s that was pretty much the goto and seemed to be just like OE.

+1 on Bosal. Fitment was 99% good.

I went with the Walker and regret it. Fitment was terrible. Had to bend the crap out of all of the hangers just to get it to work. Now all of the rubber hangers are super stressed. Just a matter of time until they start popping. I HIGHLY recommend NOT getting the Walker. Absolutely do go with the Bosal. From what I've read and seen on YouTube the Bozal is plug and play, perfect fit-up. Eeazy Peeazy install.

I appreciate the input, fellas. I’ll be deciding this week on which route to take. If anyone else has any experience with different brands, please let me knoe

I seen some users had Borla exhaust On their LCs And the exhaust tone sounded awesome.

I went Bosal last year. A tad louder 😎

I went with Bosal from CARiD so I’m hoping it will be here at the end of the week. Thank you for everyone’s input

I just installed a new Bosal from the cat back. I've got it on my 2000 tundra as well. I did use walker prior to that, but found it didn't last more than a couple of years in the midwestern salt.

I installed a Bosal last year to replace the OE muffler. Fitment was 'meh' at best. The pipes to the catalytic converters did not fit squarely and I had to bend the pipes on the Bosal to mimic the OE routing. The outlet of the Bosal was too large to fit the OE tailpipe so I had to expand the OE tailpipe to get the clamp to work. My biggest complaint about the Bosal is the sound. It reminds me of a cheap muffler on a Chevy. I was hoping for a silent tone, like the OE muffler.

In the end, the Bosal was super cheap and works okay. You will definitely want new gaskets, bolts and the rear clamp.

The stock resonators IMO don't line up well with most of the high flow mufflers on the market for the 4.7l. They sound great at idle and around town, but want to commit yourself to an institution when you're on the freeway for more than a few minutes.

I have heard full cat-backs that sound great, but personally prefer OEM exhaust especially on a vehicle that goes off-road. Nothing like "loud exhaust guy" bumbling along an above tree-line trail, except maybe "loud music guy" with the rack mounted subwoofer on his UTV.

got my toyota hardware in today. got the bosal from rockauto last week. going to attempt an install tomorrow but them bolts are complete crust. anybody have suggestions for removing the old one? im thinking sawzall the main muffler out leaving just the flanges and then gross grind the bolt heads and punch through? is there an easier way?

She's in boys. dont know when i started but took between 3 and 4 hours. my suggestions:

-yes you want all new OEM hardware and gaskets. mine lasted 20 years. it will certainly last another 20 years, not the truck probably will.
-with a sawzall, cut away as much of the front Y pipe as possible
-i used silicone spray and a ball joint TRE puller tool to take off the rubber hangers
-grind away the nut on the rear clamp
-discard muffler
-grind and hack and chew away the bolt heads and nuts on the front flanges with a grinder and cutting wheel. may have to punch them out. no need to be pretty or exact, just keep changing angle of the grinder and keep taking material away any way you can. wear face shield and ear plugs.
-***see pic. you need to replicate this cut out for the nub that is inside the resonator pipe. be generous and use a tape measure for depth. you want to cut pretty deep. i should have cut more away. it probably could have been just a long straight slot now that i look at the pic again. the rear connection is not 100% perfect. i couldnt bear to drop the hole thing for a third time and cut away more. hoping it doesnt leak.
-front flanges mated perfectly
-i transferred over the dampener thing. fit to bosal was good enough.
-rear hanger rods need a tiny bit of massaging into place. i bent them by hand in place

test drive after lunch and a shower. im hoping for as quiet as possible.

Weird, I went with Walker and it fit like OEM. Was a breeze to install. Took me longer to cut the old one out than to install the new one. Maybe you got one that had not been handled well? I'm very happy with the function and sound of the Walker bits.

I put mine on in 2015.
Walker 55329 Quiet Flow Stainless Steel. Muffler was not damaged in any way. Just did not fit worth crap.
Maybe (hopefully) they fixed the fitment issue since then. When did you purchase yours?
