I'm putting together a front axle with the elocker from the rear of a FZJ 80, and need a yay or nay from those who have gone through more axles than I. I thought that with the design of the "new" diff I'd be able to get away without the outer c-clips on the inners (like with a mar-tack) but it looks like the axles slide in just a hair or two too far for that. The journal is engaging the inner lip of the seal, but not the outer, I would assume that it must engage the outer lip to seal correctly. What say yee? Think I'm going to be clipping the birfs on, but would like confirmation.

With the axles pushed full in:

Pulled out a couple mm to where I think they should be:

Makes sense to me. If you don't want the clips, why not mar-tac?

Martack won't work with the sliding lock collar on the long side. Clips it is, oh well I have some kicking around here somewhere.

Thanks guys.
