Need info on 40 types (1 Viewer)

Ok, first of don't beat the 60 guy : )

I have a buddy that may be looking for a FJ40 but he's more interested in the extended 40. I'm not sure that much about them so I don't know if there is a different model number or somthing that makes a difference when you look.

So any help would be great

I’m guessing you are talking about an FJ45 pick-up. Same style as an FJ40 in the front but it is a single cab w/ a pick-up bed.

By extended 40 to you mean the fj45? Even rarer then the truck version.

if you are talking about what i think your talking about, i would think of the 42. From what i understand it has the basic tub of a 40 except slightly longer in the rear.

if you pay particularly close attention you can tell that the bj42 and bj43 have a slightly longer tub than the common 40 model. from what i understand the bj42 is still on the same wheelbase as the 40 where the bj43 has a slightly longer wheelbase. the link should help a lot. the aformentioned models are fairly difficult to find in the US. most have to be imported. best of luck!

Thanks for all the responses guys. I will have to check with him but I think he is talking about the FJ45 wagon from red dirt squirt's post.

jcj_78FJ40 definatly not the pickup version though.

not sure about that one tiger, in aust, the bj42's were the same length as 40's, the 42 denoted upgrades, such as the 3b and stuff like htat

much as the hj45 - hj47 are the same (heck a 1980 hj45 and a hj47 has the same body) just the 47 denotes upgrades, such as the H - 2H
