First off... I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting pics from a host site.

I rebuilt my knuckles a couple years ago and had to replace all of the bearings and races with parts matched using number cross references after ordering a complete kit. I was told, after a long discussion with the tech guys at SOR, this kit would work. When I tried to instal the very first bearing race it was obvious that this kit was not the correct one.

Unfortunately, I now have no faith in any tech assistance that cannot actually see what I have. Soooooooo...

Here's a few pics so I can attempt to get a positive ID on a few parts.
First is the Disk Brake conversion... What Toy did this system come from?

Second thing I'd like to ID is my Steering Box. It appears to be from a newer model FJ from what I can tell.

And finally, for this round, the master cylinder/brake booster.

All pics are thumbnail links to an offsite host. :steer:

The DB hubs are 76-80.

The SBX and column is 74-80.

The MC looks like 1970 FJ40.

Booster is some newer light duty Toy (minitruck, celica...)

Prop valve looks like the 76-newer Cruiser disc prop valve.

HTH

I do not remember seeing any 'bolt together' brake boosters in those applications Jim.

Looks like a factory drum brake booster and master cylinder combo to me.

:meh:

I agree - looks like on my '72 40

Sweet...

Thanks yall.
I'll start making my list now.
I had a bunch of paper work on this beast but lost it so need to compile a list of the mods that have been done to her.

Proportioning Valve no? ;)

that's what the abbreviation stands for

Yeah, you're probably right. Just looked small to me, but hard to tell in tiny pics.
