Folks,

Can someone please help me get this right the first time. I'm trying to gain 6 inches from rear axle by pushing the rear axle back.

I want to use FJ60 rear leaf springs in my 72 FJ40 rear. I don't want to move the hangers or replace them.. I:E no cutting or welding. Will the FJ60 rear leaf springs is plug n play ?

Do I need to worry about specific bushing, pins ? if yes which and where can I get them. Can I flip the FJ60 leaf springs to get few more inches ?

I tried to read but there is so much info and I'm confused which route to take.

Thanks
Zaf

Short version: FJ60 springs are not plug and play on stock 40, and you will not get the rear axle back 6 inches without moving spring brackets.

Thanks Reddingcruiser. I can't weld so looking for a easy solution.
Welding is definitely a skill worth learning. There are plenty of shops that could do the work. Why do you need to move the axle, engine swap?
