Hi Fellas,

Can you please give me some advice on how to run my brake lines to have good articulation without tearing my brake lines off. I have a SOA and I just discovered a leak between the tube and the compression fitting on the front passenger side brake. Does anyone have advice how to properly run front brake lines for FJ40 disc brakes? Pictures would be great. Currently the brake lines run next to the firewall down the frame on each side, hard lines end by the shock tower and then there are braided lines going down to the hard line on the brake caliper. The previous owner didn't secure the lines well so they moved around a lot and in one place the braided lines are zipped tied to the bottom of the shock on each side. I really want to clean this up and make it safe.

Thanks in advance,
Roman

I prefer to have my front axle brake lines run as close to the stock config. as possible - no flappy braided lines coming straight off the housing, but routed to the junction on top of the knuckle. Check the SOR web site for a detailed layout & parts breakdown. I routed my new main lines (from mstr. cyl.) along the firewall to a junction (close to the clutch line junction pass. side), then directly to the top of the housing. That's about a 36" long run & it's braided. I tied it to my ARB & diff vent lines that are all there together. I'd shoot a pic but haven't ordered my braided line yet - will do that next week.

Thanks Hamma, if you could get me a picture that would be great.

Thanks again,
Roman

Sorry it took so long, but I finally got around to it. I remeasured & the braided stainless line is 44" long. You can see how it's tied to my ARB line & diff housing vent line.
