I cannot align the trany engine. I had it to wear the engone mounts were about 1/2" from being centered and could not punch it home. I tried the bolts as guides but the tranny has shifted and holes will not align up. I tried moving tanny back and cannot move it. I am just frustrated.

Is the engine currently out of the rig? If so, post up a pic of the pilot bushing.

I hope this helps

Drive train and shifters. I took out zeke fitting and tried to compress drive shaft and could not. Transmission shifts and is unstable.

I've installed transmissions when the engine is in the truck, but not vice-versa. I could imagine that being very frustrating.

Have someone with a transmission jack come over and yank that transmission out. Pull the driveshafts off and service them. Assemble the transmission onto the overdrive to make the drivetrain one unit. That will make assembly in the truck much easier.

I am lost on what is going on, but I do live in Weaverville as well.

As @jdayment said....I would be best for moral support and fetching tools, but I will come over on whatever day you guys decide (if possible) and be a gopher.

Link to the ad so I can get some clarification?

From what I can see from the picture it looks as if the clutch disc is not centered. It's very possible it can be the angle the picture was taken at.

I tried to get pilot bearing and you can see it at the very end. This is going to be the best shot.

Well, with clutch and throwout all sitting in the way there isn't much we can do. If you pull that out of the way and get a real pic of the pilot bushing I believe we will see the problem.

Pic stolen from web ..... post up a pic of the bushing that is pressed into to the back of the crankshaft.

Looking to see if 30 hours and 3 days of trying to wrangle the engine into place has mucked up the bushing, thus making a tranny engine mating impossible.

Even working solo slipping the engine into place shouldn't take over an hour, so some physical constraint is keeping you from linking up. The likely scenario is the pilot bushing being damaged followed by either dowels, the dowel holes, or the pilot end of the tranny input shaft.

Is it all buggered up from your attemted install? A small burr or blemish will keep the pilot from sliding in with ease and self destruct shortly if you do manage to cram it in there.

Back to transmission for a moment. Somits barely sitting there tetering and you were trying to install motor? If it was moving around as you tried to mate the motor to it, it would be incredibly difficult to get them to align well.

Edit: What he said ^^^

But one more ?

That pic is looking forward from behind and viewing through the throwout bearing, the clutch, then at pilot bushing? How is the clutch hanging in there currently?

I am of the camp to pull the rest of the drive line out of the truck, put it all together outside the truck and install as a complete unit. I work alone and install drive trains all the time in that manner. I use an ATV jack (wider than floor jack and it also rolls) and land the T case on that jack and let it roll forward and back as I lower the drive train into the truck. Lining up the pilot bearing and alignment pins the way you are attempting is a major PITA for anyone.

Looks like you will have enough help to get the job done :)

One additional suggestion .... I'm not a fan of clutch alignment tools compared to using an old tranny input shaft but most times that's not an option. If you have not already (and after you verify the pilot bushing is in good shape), I suggest you loosen the pressure plate bolts and realign the clutch. It is easy for the alignment tool to make you believe it's good to go and the clutch disk still be out of alignment.
