need help setting up R&P

    more than just the 60s dudes know how to set them up and it seems like none of them are on....will some that knows about it please check my thread in 60's tech...

    i was wondering if there is shims between the old pinion and the old bearing...that i need to pull off right now to get the old shims...there is more over on tech but thats just what im stuck on now...thanks

    my buddy was gonna bring it over but he left it 500 miles south.


    I found out there is no shim.


    still need help with getting the flange on though...any real help someone could give me.

    Sorry Al no help here...s*** I need help with my leaking transfer case, not to mention no A/C in this crazy heat. Although I do like her screen name. My wife would be Iride3puttcop, because she always riding my ass about something!!!!

    Sure you don't want to take it to a diff shop? Getting it set up right is extremely important for long and trouble free gear life. Since you have it apart, just take the thirds to your local diff shop. Our guy here in Sac charges $150 per side to set up the diffs and replace the bearings if you bring it in with the install kits. That seems like cheap insurance to me. If you are determined to do it yourself, Randy's Ring and Pinion used to have good instructions on their site. I've watched our local guy set up gears and it's definitely an experience thing. If you can't find someone local to help you, have it done by a pro.
