Its was on there when I got my 74. Not sure if my seal is gone or its there for a precautionary measure. Anyhow, no probs
with my gearbox or transfercase. Its a tight fit with the pto.

The BJ75 looks tidy.

EBAY???

Roger mate , you didnt rip the little ajustable knobs of did you a mate did this on his tough dog shocks with the little knob ajst

No, no problem there. Mounted them that way the knob were at the rear so to say. They then were more or less protected by the springleafs as they were positioned close to the lower attachpoint.
The reason I replaced them was that they were getting old and worn.

Just depends on the price, do a compression check as well. You can buy a BJ74 with less kms and diff locks in very good condition for about 13-15K now in canada, a troopy is rare so that is pretty cool. I'd prefer a 1HZ-t or 1HDT in it but that is just me. Fully loaded it will be a pig on hills - watch your temps if you get it.

depending on price it seems like a good truck.

but since you live in Vancouver i would be concerned about the 3B power on the hills you have around you... then again, you can always swap a different engine in down the road

EBAY???

Yes ebay is the easiest. They go for as little as $30.The one in the pic is $61:eek:

$45 bucks from RooDogs.

Where can you get em for $30?

Cheers.

Ive seen them on ebay for $29.95. They are not necessarily there all the time at that price

Maybe it would be cheaper for u, Lulo, to go to a hydrolics hose making shop and get them to make one up for u. When you factor in the exchange rate, shipping and delivery time it might be easier to have one made. Mine uses brass fitting which is not good with Ali case.

No real reason only that it is easy to strip the fill hole threads if you over tighten the fitting. I have a bad habit of doing things up to tight. My torque wrench was a great investment:)

Hi Lulo,

You can get the fixit kit from Roodogs.
RooDogs Home

Go to their eBay site and look under 70 series Landcruisers.
They have heaps of cool stuff, deliver all over the world and
are very freindly.

Cheers.

Thanks a lot for comments guys.

The truck is going for inspection (incl. compression test) tomorrow and then we'll see if it's worth the money. There a obviously a few things not quite right.

I own a Mitsubishi Delica (2.5l, 85hp) 2.5 tons, so I'm used to go slow uphills, but actually I would like it a little bit faster if possible this time. Do you think a Troopy with turbo 3B engine and about 110hp is better? If not, do you think an intercooler, bigger exhaust and a K&N air filter would help a lot?

I drove a friends "BJ45" 3B/5spd with a CT-26 turbo and intercooler this spring. Same chassis but maybe a little lighter. It didn't give me whiplash but you could definitely feel the power of the torque. 5th gear 120Km/hr up small hills with no trouble. 7-10 psi boost, no pyro and I can't recall the rpms. Plenty for me anyway - I'm putting that same combo into my truck.

having owned Delicas, having owned 3B turbos, they both have their upsides and down... neither are rockets but the end result is the same. you get from A to B... someday.

that is a heavy truck so the turbo 3B will be a bit of a slug but it will be driveable.

I'd buy it for a good price, remove the 3B/turbo and sell it, and buy a 1HZ with turbo - problem solved.

You will be working that engine too hard in those hills, an intercooler would help but would be money towards something that you will probably want to swap out for a bigger engine.

Tough to find a 1hz powered troopy in NA, but I think I know someone who has one. Wayne, still have yours?
