Need advice on what to steal off a 100 series for my 80

Ok heres the deal I have a 2001 100 series gasoline 6 cylinder(arabic edition)that I can take parts off
EDIT ... Model FZJ100L-GCMNKV
engine 1FZ-FE trans/axle H151F AO48
I would like your advice on what small things I should grab that I might need or could use someday for my 93FZJ80.:hmm:
I was thinking bolts, switches, 12V power outlet ect.. Small things that I can bring back with me on the plane.
It does have a sub tank . Which I want for my 80 someday. Can any of the parts be used?
The engine is the same right? so what little stuff might I need ?
I dont want to be back in the states and say I wish I would have grabbed that when I had the chance. Or if something has a good trade value I might try to grab it also.

The story behind the LC is it was left at our last base. Completly unaccounted for. We recently gave that base back to the Iraqis. Our mechanics shipped it over here with plans on using as their personal transportation. I guess it had electrical problems and they gave up on it. It is now being disected piece by piece by a high ranking commander who wants to learn how to play mechanic and work on engines. I just saw the thing and parts are everywhere. It was a horrific site.:crybaby: I will probably have to see my combat stress counselor because of it. But it is just another victim of the war.

Your suggestions would be appreciated. I am still a newb and not sure what to grab before this thing heads to the s**** yard. No, I cannot grab parts for all of you so please dont ask.

This whole play mechanic and destroy a Land Cruiser was the bright idea of a Jeep guy. He called it a POS eyesore and said his cherokee is ten times the truck.:bang: I had to control my anger or no parts for me.

Are you sure it's a 100-series or a 105-series? The 105 has the 80 frame and solid axle. The 100 was IFS in the front.

Someone else can correct me here, but the 105 also ran the straight 6 1FZJ while the 100 series went to a V8.

Offer to go wheeling with the Jeep clown when you both get back.

If it is a 100 then it has the V8.... take that
Other than that the sub tanks and maybe the front seats

You can take the hood ornament, 115 V switch, fog light switch, and subtank switch.

NOPE ...it must be a 100 because it has IFS. not solid axle like the 105. The engine is a 1FZ-FE (it says it plain as day) IF it is not a 100 what would it be called?
The badging under the hood and the DS door are in Arabic.
I better take pictures before there is nothing left. They already dropped the manual transmission for fun. I now have a reason to take a day off. I usually go on every mission.
I guess someone would want the amber side marker lights so I will grab them.(weird they are not clear like many others)
Sub tank switch for sure . And the stupid chrome hood ornament .....Maybe even the Arabic badges
What stuff might come in handy off the 1FZ-FE??????

Lots of strange Land Cruisers here in Iraq. I even saw a 95 FZJ80 USA edition over here. Except it had the sombrero where the side marker lights would go and it had an Arabic dealer sticker on the back. (I got pics of this one) Everything else was all USA. Leather ,reciever hitch, No CDL switch, ect.ect.

Oh and don't forget about taking the diff lock switch off too.

Could you possibly get the whole thing? Offer to take it all away. After all its just a pos yota to the jeep guy. Then part it out yourself.

BTW, dibs on the ecu and the MAF.

This thread needs pictures like a mug!!!

Could you get a crate brought back on like an empty cargo plane when you come back? Maybe pull a few strings. :) You should totally strip that thing. Bring back all you can... tranny, engine parts, interior, axles. Whatever you can, you should bring it back and whatever you don't use, just sell off. I would shoot for tranny if I could, and clutch assembly, etc. That would be sweet. :)

Ok I just walked about 1 1/2 miles to the motor pool. I found the correct model number from under the hood. FZJ100L (Took some awesome pics of armored 200's on the way) The inside is very basic ...coolerbox and AC and stereo. The sub tank switch looks larger than the ones in 80's .Wierd 3rd row seats in the back. I dont know how a man could sit it them without having his knees in his face. They are like troopy seats. but about 4" from the floor. They just flip down and face each other.
I guess I should grab the front mudflaps someone will want them for sure.

I just googled the model# and found this. It is like this one without all the ambulance stuff

http://www.mgtauto.com/lhd-pdf/TOYOTA LC STW FZJ100 G Manual Ambulance Special RL.pdf

I found out they play disect and destroy the Land Cruiser on Sundays. But I am usually out on mission. I am going to try real hard to make those sessions. I would be a fool not to take advantage of playing with the 1FZ-FE engine that powers my baby back in the states. I will try my best not to kill the Jeep clown who is giving these mechanic classes to this commander. But instead try to use the time to learn what I can.

I would still like advice on what could come in handy in the future and what I should grab.

I should also learn how to post photos I have a ton of them.

For now just grab that sub tank switch and don't look back. It only looks bigger but it will fit in your 80.

Could you grab the starter & alternator to take home as spares? This must be a tough thing to see go down, but at least you will hopefully get to learn from it. I didn't notice if you mentioned it, but does it have a rear locking diff? If it does, maybe the actuator would fit in your luggage.

Tonight I got off mission and went to see the Land Cruiser before it got dark.
I have never witnessed such a horrific site........ They pulled the engine using a sawzall and sledge.
It makes me sick to my stomach to see a Land Cruiser being treated that way by a Jeep guy.
I have seen some really bad things over here. I really dont know why this thing bothers me so much.

I will grab some stuff when they are done I guess

I'm sure it is a sad sight to see, but you didn't happen to take any pics did you? Or is cruiser raping classified information. ;)

I have it fully documented with pics for the future War crimes investigations
I think the Jeep guy should get the firing squad

It's amazing what someone with an inferiority complex will do when given the chance.

Alright I got the green light to grab things off the cruiser. Tomorrow!!!!
The 1FZ-FE is on an engine stand and I am not supposed to touch that yet. They must hack it up first
I am thinking, the front and rear power outlets,sub-tank switch, shift knobs(for my van), assorted nuts and bolts, tie-downs in rear, mud flaps(trade value) sombrero off grille, hood ornament, nuts and bolts.
The ECU is no good because it is a MT(right?)
Dual filler neck and tank maybe.. Someone in USA wants this for sure. Having interpreter find out about shipping for me.Our PO will not ship.
Need help on what else to grab... Ideas

By cooler box do you mean console fridge?

If so, grab that and all the assorted items with it.

Yes' it is a center console fridge. Is that something I could use in mine maybe??? the color is right. I guess I have about three weeks to get everything before they toss it away.
I really need help on what to grab off the 1FZ-FE....
It is a 2001 and I dont know the mileage because its digital.

Get all the stuff you can off the engine!! Alternator, A/C compressor, etc. Free parts are free parts. :) What about lockers? Maybe scavenge those. I'd take everything I could off the engine. :) Never can have too many back ups I suppose. :)
