Just got done replacing the wires, dist cap, and valve cover gasket, and now none of my guages are working. Anybody know what I might have forgotten to reconnect or something? I'm hoping that I just missed a plug somewhere.

Hmmm. Have you checked your fuses? Does the truck run okay?

Truck seems to run fine in idle, checked the fuses, all seems ok in fuseland.

Funny, I am at home, and my fsm is a work. :frown:

Slight correction - It appears that just the oil pressure guage and temp guage aren't working.

I guess those are kind of important.

Do the backup lights work?

Wob--

Both the oil pressure gauge sensor and the coolant sensor are right next to each other about midway up next to the valve cover on the right hand side; directly northwest of the power steering resovoir (at least on my 97). Maybe you forgot to plug them in after the valve cover job?

Get me your email address and I'll send you the .pdf file for the location of the sensors and connectors.

Cheers.

Prolly not the gauge fuse then. Did you muck with any wires when you pulled the cover?

I disconnected a few when removing the throttle body. I was hoping that maybe I overlooked one when reconnecting. :frown:

The only thing I can see in the book that is common to both is the "combination meter wiring circuit". Does the tach and the voltmeter work?

Yes, the tach and voltmeter are working fine.

The oil pressure sender is on the passenger side of the motor and the wiring for that goes over to the RH fender apron. It is a long way from the valve cover. Are you sure everything else is working?

OK, I'm a dumbarse. I guess the engine hadn't had to warm up enough.
The oil pressure guage is still dead, though. The sun has set in the East, so I will look at the oil pressure sender in the morn. I probably stepped on them when wedged in the engine compartment. :frown:

Thanks again guys.

Though, Oil Level Warning SW is to the right of the valve cover...

That is way down in the side of the upper oil pan.

I'm guessing that the white wire is the culprit. Sooooo Dan, how much would a new harness run? It is the one that O2 and O3 are on in Beno's diagram.
