Relevant is I'm heading to Wilmington

@Marine7 @beachbumin @tstepp920 Who else are in the bad areas? Maybe they'll see this and chime in.
Flooding in Lumberton is unbelievable. I rode around for several hours trying to find a way to a job site.Wilmington "looks like a war zone" according to one of my managers. This morning gas tankers were being escorted by State Patrolmen. Food is being flown in. Travel in and around the perimeter of Fayetteville is almost impossible. Bridges continue to be closed.

Gaining access to Wilmington is damn near impossible. The bridege across the CApe Fear is open but gaining access to 74 is frustrating. You may want to touch base woth someone locally. Just south of Wilmington, Oak Island, Southport is turned upside down. Our clients all evacuated.

My parents are near Fayetteville. They did fine through the storm with the help of a 25kW generator. I was going to take off Friday from work and head down there.

Let me me know if u are. I can give u the route u will have to take.

my parents live in calabash, wasted one day trying to get back home and came back to my place...finally made it home yesterday.. the nearby neighborhoods are still filling with water, they are ok for now...she did say the grocery stores were pretty barren for food..

I am taking the Cruiser. I'm either going 40 to 95 or through Lillington to Bragg and then Skibo.

Some info for u guys. I will post it here instead of PMs for everybody’s SA

I95 south bound lanes are completely closed at I40 all the way to the SC border.

I95 North bound lanes open at exit 56 or EastOver exit. But it closes back up at exit 76 or Godwin exit. The detour is 301 or Old Dunn Rd which parallels I95 on the west side. You can get back on I95 at Dunn exits a few miles North.

Alternate routes south to Fayetteville from Raleigh as of this morning.

South to Lillington is a good bet. From Lillington I took NC 210 south until McNeil Hobbs rd. From there head west to NC 401. Once you get to 401 it’s clear all the way into Fayetteville.

To get to Laurinburg NC I would take highway 1 all the way south to Aberdeen then take 15 all the way to Laurinburg.
I drove as far as southern pines To get to work the other day so I can only confirm up to that point.

Below is a good map you can use to plan your routes.

Hope this info helps.

Forgot to mention

87 is closed at some point once you enter Fayetteville, fort Bragg, spring lake area.

210 is also closed at some point around the same area.

401 is closed just south of Lillington

In the morning I will attempt to take 401 from Lillington to confirm if it has opened up. I can update tomorow evening.

We evacuated to Asheville. Got back home Wednesday night. Highway 70 to Kinston, 258 south to Richlands, over to J-ville. Only flooding issue is in Kinston, other than that its wide open. Gas available all the way until Hampstead area.

I've been here since 94, so Fran, Floyd, Bertha, etc, etc... Never evacuated until last week.

Its all the same stuff. A ton of trees down. A lot of people evacuated so those houses are empty with trees all over.

Power guys are FU**ing AMAZING. We had power on Tuesday. Crews all over working their asses off getting power back on. Lots of people helping each other. Rivers are bad in low areas of Pender and Brunswick counties. Tree guys from out of state charging arms and legs to cut down trees. I've been going around to the neighbors with my small chainsaw helping to cut bigger stuff up. Grocery stores are open. Some gas stations, that have power are getting gas. Still quite a few traffic lights with no power, so driving is stressful.

If this was a Cat 3 or a Cat 4 I seriously cannot imagine the damage that would have occurred.

I took 401 to Lillington and then 210 to Fayetteville. No problems at all along the way. 210 has been repaved and is a really nice drive.

Made it up to Wilmington from FL via 95N then out to Murtle Beach and then straight up to Wilmington.

Spent the day yesterday cutting up a huge tree that had fallen in a friend of a friend's yard. Cruiser handled hauling duty nicely with 20 ft of chain and that low range smoothness.

More today.

If you are pulling trees with your LC do not do it in reverse. The gears are designed to take heavy loads in forward motion. Not nearly as strong in reverse.

I did not know this!

Exactly this.....

Coming in through Jacksonville is what i did. Its getting better here every day. I think the real need is in the rural nc/sc areas like Kelly, Reiglwood and Socastee. Dams are breaching and failing left and right as we keep getting more water. Awesome feeling to log back on here after a few days of rebuilding to see a post like this. I've been here since the 90's and this is the worst I've ever seen.
