Is there a menu setting that will darken the nav screen when the lights are on? Right before they replaced my display (04 LC TSB), it was showing about 20% of the time with a black background but still with all of the info on the map...looked like it would be great for nighttime driving. I tried the setting where it gave you 4 choices plus normal but i didnt notice any change on any of them.

On the left side of the steering wheel is the the dimmer control for the dash lights, move it off its highest setting and the nav screen will be dark blue when you turn on your headlights.
Keep turning the dimmer switch, you'll actually feel it click.yahtzee said:
Another thing to remember. The screen won't automatically dim once the headlights are on. It must have a different threshhold for the ambient light.
I've often noticed that when the headlights first go on when it first starts getting dark, the nav will not dim until the ambient light gets darker.
