How do you turn off the annoying beep whenever you press something on the nav/audio/info screen?

Do you have an LX or LC? I have never gotten the beep in my '04 LC, and was wondering why.

Wow. I've owned my '04 LC since it was new and it never beeped. Should I be happy that it doesn't?

Mine beeps. There has got to be a setting.

Beep on mine too. I believe I have gone thru most of the menus and have not seen an option to disable the beep. In some cases (while driving), it's actually good to hear the confirmation beep.

Mine has a beep, but doesnt seem obtrusive to me, barely audible,

I just went into the "hidden" override menu to see if there was a way to disable that but didnt see anything applicable

Hello,

Reviving an old...old thread. I have a 2007 LX470 that I'm trying to make my confirmation beep louder...does anybody know how to do this? Is this a dealer programming thing?

Thanks in advance.

I took it to a Toyota dealer yesterday (since the nearest Lexus dealer is approx 3 hours away) and they had no clue :(

Ive been wondering the same thing on my 05 LC, that beep is annoying.

OK...as I mentioned earlier I took it to a a local Toyota dealer and they had no clue (pretty lame dealer we have here locally). So I called a Lexus dealer about 3 hours away and they think they can make this adjustment. This Lexus dealer is one of the top Lexus dealers in the country with excellent reputation and their service is fantastic, as this is an example of their service. I emailed them through their website and I immediately received a call from a service tech with possible solution, most dealers will not even follow up. Anyway they would need to hook up their computer to the vehicle and do a C-Best adjustment, whatever that means. But, yes I think this is doable to adjust the volume of the beep. I will follow up after I make the 3 hour trip to the Lexus dealer.

By chance, was it the dealer in Bend??

Steve

Yes the Toyota dealer is in Bend, the Lexus dealer is in Portland OR.

I have an appointment with the Lexus dealer in Portland Wed. 5/21....I'll post the results after the appointment.

update?

No luck at the dealer :( ...they hooked up the computer but wasn't able to find an adjustment for the beep volume. They were going to call Lexus this week and see if this is adjustable, I'll post if I hear back from the dealer.

My 06 does the same. I was able to turn the blue tooth failure beep off but nothing for the navigation beep. I hate how it always goes to the navigation screen when you turn the truck on. I would disable it if I could. I will never use the navigation function.

^ If I leave my unit on trip info it will stay there. I toggle between audio and trip info. I do recall NAV popping up each time after pressing the button but I think you can toggle it off? '04 may be different from '06?

Hijack over.

I'll check with a 20 year Toyota mechanic I know as well on the beeps. It doesn't bother me unless my daughter is sleeping...

Anyone ever figure this out? Have new to me 05 and have young kids who sleep on road trips. Trying to at least make it quieter or go away all together.
