Looking for a hood in good shape for a 1981 BJ-44; color doesn’t matter. my understanding FJ-40 and BJ-40 hoods in that same time frame would work.

Does you current hood have original paint. It looks like you could knock that dent out.

Hi and thanks for the the reply.

The original paint job is white but someone in Japan painted it the olive brown. I want to take back to the original white. Here is a close up of the crease.
Also, there is some quasi-severe rust. Not sure if better to fix this one or replace with a rehabbed one.

Mostly in good shape; some typical rust areas on the tub but it’s time to start all the body fixes.

You do have a few issues with that hood. The one I have is decent. There is some bubbling around the nose but I don't think it's rusted through.

Let me know if you looking for someone like this and I can get a wire brush out and see how it looks.

Thanks for sending. The first pic of the gray hood looks pretty good. Are all the pics of the same hood? I’m trying to understand how much work to fix the rust area the last image is showing. Is it surface or needs to be built-up and grinded.

Also, where in Georgia are you located? And ballpark asking price?

Here are some more pics. They are all the same hood. I hit a few spots with a wire brush. I don't think there are any deep rust pits. More like scaly rusty areas all on the bottom side.

I’d say take your silencer brackets and install them in the hood that you’ll buy. Keep it close to original. Cheers.
