While nosing around in my engine this afternoon, I discovered two pieces of what appear to be rubber trim laying in front of the battery in the battery box. They are unattached, but each has two plastic push bolts and three holes to attach them to something I know not what. I didn't see anything that appeared to be desperately missing some trim. Please, help me find a good home for these parts.

Without looking at my truck, I believe they are gaskets that go above the lights on the core support (or maybe on the hood...?) to deflect air (and water...?) away from that area.

On the hood just above each headlight.

Correct.

It is possible that it had a hood protector of some type installed at some time. They often require removal of those seals. Perhaps they were pulled off and stashed there.

Hood protector

I just installed a toyota wind deflector and had to remove those 2 rubber pieces to use the holes to secure the deflector.

I believe CDan is the winner by a nose. It does have the wind deflector from the PO.
Thanks

Yep - Dan's answer was more to the point and answered more than the original question asked.

And yes Dan, my handicap is currently a 6. :flipoff2:

:censor: , I thought you were talking about my mechanical handicap. :D

Time to start spending more quality time with the Cruiser and less time chasing little white balls. Don't you need a dual battery system?
