mystery pipe

The other day I noticed, while my bj60 was idling exaust or steam coming from under the front of the rig. I looked under the engine expecting to see a hole in my exaust system. But, the steam/exaust was comming from a straight down pipe from the engine. The pipe has no plug nor hose. What is it?

it's normal to a point. Too much and maybe problems, like he said search "breather pipe"
