I have searched to no avail. I heard that a factory Toyota transmission exist that is five speed, R series, and attaches to a split LC t-case. R series bell housing would bolt to a 3.0 v6 or 3.4 v6 (5vzfe) This combination would not be with the use of a Marlin Toybox but all OEM Toyota. Anyone aware of such a transmission? Thanks!

Hi All:

The R151 transmission came in the LJ Series light-duty Land Cruisers. It is a five speed mated to a "split" type transfer case with the off-set rear output.

I have a friend with a 1989 LJ73 that features a Toyota 3.4L V-6 attached to the R151 via the bell housing used behind the Toyota 3.0 L V-6.

Regards,

Alan

Thanks Alan. That is exactly the transmission I was referring to. Do you have any more info on this? I heard of one mated to the 3.4 v6. All the R151 I have seen have a female transfer case input and the split case has a female input...so how does that work?
