Took Friday off of work, first day off in who knows how long.

We decided to drive to the coast for the day.

Got a really long start because Andrea couldn't find where she had put the key to the cruiser..... 4 hours later we were off.

Was in the 90's in Seattle and clear and sunny.

When we got withing 3 miles of the coast the clouds rolled in from a storm in the pacific. (if we had left on time would have had 4 hours of sunshine... grrr!!! )

Originally I wanted to go to Long Beach. With 26+ miles of beach its the longest driving beach in the US. It was just too far for a day trip starting out that late though so we went to Ocean shores with its 10 miles of beach driving. Messed around in the tide pools drove. Stopped in Aberdeen to see Kurt Cobains childhood house, try some breweries on the way and had a dinner of Crab, oysters and salmon for dinner. Would have camped but got suckered into babysitting today.

#dubverlander lol will be glad when the tires finally wear out so I can then justify spending the cash on new tires for the 16" wheels

Grabbed a knuckle and uca off of Adam at torfab yesterday.

He just SASd his hundo... like an idiot I didnt take any pics of the finished product but will get some at the meeting next month. Here is one off his IG while doing it in his garage.

If I get another cruiser a 105 is going to be it.... hopefully.


Love the area he lives in.... shot up my list of places to move to when I can work remotely more often.

On the way back I passed the most diverse car cruise ever. First car 2as a riced out civic, then a grand national, then a McClaren, Chevy Nomad, G500, etc...... continued like that for a few miles. Kinda cool to see car enthusiasts from every corner just hanging out.

Then got lunch at the loft bar at snoqualmie falls.

Now to try and get the cruiser completely done today and I should have it sold next week.

So made it out to the olympus rally day two today.... great drive out there, beautiful weather as always this time of year, on the hwy out there we had a family of bald eagles flying just ahead of us before we overtook them. One large bird and 3 small ones following their mom learning the ins and outs..... wish I could have snapped a picure. Anyway the rally was great... there were some damages, accidents and breaks, one happened right in front of us when the lone toyota, a starlet, chunked its PSF lower control arm at the hairpin bend.

The ARA puts on a great show, it is not the WRC in terms of cars or talent though. A current WRC car would trounce even the factory backed subarus that were out there today.

This is more like Rally Britain or Rally Ireland to a lesser degree. They have picked up from where RA, rally america left off, although there is some in fighting going on there. The split in talent and cars were amazing. Anyone can join and be put in a certain class. I saw my first honda at a rally ever... someone entered a brand new type ARRRRRRR, and promptly got trounced by an 01 focus with with a stripped interior, much to my brother in laws dismay.

The starlet was awesome, the big power cars were awesome, my 3 favorite cars were the 91 quattro, the volvo and the cosworth powerd escort.

It was the most fun i've had in the forest when I wasn't driving something i've ever had. Will be back for next year. The Olympus Rally is a special rally in most rally geeks hearts as it is the only rally that was in the US and part of the WRC, briefly 1986-1987. Meaning that it was the very last race that group b existed and also the very last race of the first group a season. Wish I could have been here in 1986 to watch the group B monsters race.

Damn. Some of those pics are super nice. The videos are great too. Looks like a blast. I can tell you though my wrx sounds exactly like those... full header and Invidia 4” all the way back. It’s like a fat kid with a trombone is hanging out of the back of my car. The neighbors love it. Anyway thanks, can’t sleep. Thanks for the diversion.

Yeah some came out really good... others not so much. Got to put that camera back to factory settings because I don't know how to use it on anything but auto and auto isn't working right LMAO.

Anyway your WRX key chain is in the mail. Had I been smart I would have taken it out to get signed by team subaru yesterday.

When the two factory backed cars went by we got pelted by rocks... the speed they went through was incredible. They finished 1 2 to nobodies surprise but in the reverse order they were predicted to.
