My trusty 2008 RX 350 w/ 130,000 miles. Two bolts came loose and wrecked havoc inside the engine. Carnage is in the linked album. So disappointed, was looking forward to another 100K. Engine has never been opened up before, so it's not an improper torque issue from a recent repair.

Seems pretty unheard of for a Toyota/Lexus engine to do this. Anyone seen something like this in one of these engines?

That sucks. The whole lineup of GR engines seem to be practically indestructible outside of a few issues early on the the IS250 carbon buildup and the IS350 valve spring issue where an assembly machine was scratching the spring and causing some rare issues. I think you might just have really bad luck on that one. I have an RX350 and my parents have an '09 ish highlander with the same engine. Neither one has had a single hiccup.
