1991 sidekick 5MT
install 1inch body lift and vw jetta rear spring all around
31inch tire
cheap on gas under 90km/h
need to carry jerry can if you go for 200+km off road trip
Fits my boat!



2003 Montero Sports AT
Transmission overheats while snow wheeling
comfortible ride
can go 160km/h



200X honda ridgeline AT
can tow 20ft boat with trailer no problem
can not fit car topper boat easy
stuff gets wet and dusty



And My Rankuru

Water pump failed (seized) once coming back from long trip.
slowly came back home with rad cap off, adding water, loosen up the belt for 80km.
No damage to the engine I think....

Here is funny tire size from Japan BFG AT 325/60/15
I had this set up for one week and wheel sold. Wheels were heavy....

So what was moving the water around the engine then? With out the pump moving it the water around the block would have gotten very very hot. Great way to damage a motor that is already susceptible to cracked heads and over heating.

I thought engine is going shot too.
I guess it happened during winter time saved the engine.
all the stuff I can think of plus blow max heater.
I drive more than 10,000km after this with new pump.
Do not see any sign of blow up headgasket / head
(no over heats)

Stopped at leaset 4 times to cool the engine / watch the temp guage.

First time out there.

It's my turn.
No back up truck, no winch, no locker.
CB radio is the only my road side service.

Checking out how hard is the v-rock.
When I saw it, I hesitate going up.

This is the top of my upper hut lake trip. I failed to go up there.
Two jeep and Ranger made it. They had a locker all around. Fun watching Ranger going up.

It was challenging going up the hut lake.
Bit too much for 4X4 / fishing trip specially upper hut lake trail.
I did not see any fish at hut lake. We head back to Levette Lake.

Damages
right front fender ding (don't know when was this)
brand new rear u-bolt end bend (I should just cut it off)
Right rear quarter panel dent
left rear bumper plastic bend (as usual)
wheel / hub scratch from rock

Nothing really exciting.
I went to pick up car at a port and I saw Landcruiser Prado
has same wheel as mine.
I wonder what is the spec of this car.

Brake light, filter light, charge lights comes on all the time. I took a part the relay and re solder all points. Wow no more warning lights!





Replace oil return line from alternator to block.
Cost me $45? From dealer. Kind of expensive.

Tried seafoam today.
Just pour into manifold
Got lots of white smoke for while.
Runs smooth and feels more power?
Noticeable difference additive I ever used.

Into your manifold? Which one? I'm kinda lost here... I've used in my diesel filter when I replaced it, make a little difference...

I just open up air filter / throttle body hose and add half a bottle.
I want to try fill up with seaform into fuel filter next filter change.

The one you took out is a after market cheap one as well.

Left filter is Fram filter came with car.
Right one is altrom brand.

Installed new (used) cd player.
I have dc/dc converter.
Need wiring for constant 12v







Hard to find mounting piece.
Tight fit but no screws...
Some gap on the side...





I kept existing speaker wire around door.
I found wire connector both end of dash.
Cut and solder to head unit.





Old unit for sale? Still working.
New unit's radio reception is x10 better than the old one.

I change the antenna while ago.
This antenna is almost same height as my Rankuru. Good measuring device if I can make underground parking or not before I hit roof rack.

Another wheel set

I bought used raceline wheel 16x8 from cl.
And I found (for free) 245/75/16 Goodyear mt-r? Used
Test fitted and failed.
Don't need spacer but I don't have proper wheel nuts. also one tire has uneven wear and vibrate.
Take it out and back to Toyota 16s

Toyota 16inch 4runner rim & 305/70/16 Bfg AT 70lb each
Raceline 16x8 & 245/75/16 Goodyear mt/r
62lb each.
Waiting for new tire for street
