Drove home from NC couple of weeks ago. I will never buy another car north of Virginia. Great to work on rust free car.

This LX is better shape than my previous 93. (93 was white and locked. I still like the TOYOTA on the grill over the Lexus or Toyota symble.

Put a new windshield in (leaking still)

Plan to re-install running boards, redo (somehow) the leather steering wheel, redo driver seat, gears for seat adjustment, add roof rack and base line fluids, new tires before winter, restore function of the ac, improve paint on hood/roof and some new weather stripping.

Everything else is pretty good. Was in better shape than I thought with the exception of the AC not working and the spider in the windshield.

Happy camper. Greatest truck ever produced! Happy to be back on mud. What a well organized forum with such a huge body of knowledge. Makes owning a Cruiser much easier. Thanks MUD!

Sweeeeet ride!! welcome back

Nice rig. No factory/port roof racks. No rear air deflector. No port trailer hitch.

Interesting. Whats the history?

Congrats and welcome back.:) It looks like the PO replaced the plastic LX step on the back bumper w/ an aluminum one from an LC.

 Back in the saddle again

Nice find. I agree with the anti New England purchases. Also agree with greatest truck ever produced. I think this is the first truck I will not sell for many more yrs. That is a first for me honestly. I love my 80. So what are the plans for building it up?

Has been removed and not cleanly. Would like to improve on the removal of the factory roof rack (or reinstall) and the air deflector. Maybe add gutter mounted roof rack. The window sticker lists a trailer hitch (if I recall correctly) but its doesn't appear as there was ever one installed. Probably was one but I don't see sign or spots on the frame of a previous install.

I was curious about that. Not sure why. And they added that plate mounted four hole hitch. Might remove that and add a frame mounted hitch if I have a need to tow with the LX and not my truck.

Build plans area wifey daily driver till a 100 series comes along. Would like to add sliders instead of running boards but as a daily drive for the family, running board will probably win out. Was thinking of building sliders with removable side steps or bump outs. Probably will not be wheeled hard but more expedition build when it becomes "all" mine.

Slee has a step (running board style) slider.

Win-win!
