Hey, I'm new here, so all help would be appreciated.

Me and my dad did a resto on an old VW bug a while back, and was that fun...
we didnt get to finish it due to lack of time and space, so we sold it....and man was i sad:crybaby:. and that was the start of my addiction.

now that im almost old enough to drive, my dad got me a nice '87 Fj60 to work on.
there isn't much work to be done but, its enough to cure my addiction for now.
here are some pictures....

it is all stock right now, but im planning on doing:
- OME 4'' lift kit
-new 33'' toyo m/t's
-new wheels.. haven't really decided on those yet
-leather interior
-winch

sweet! I take it your dad has the sickness as well as there is another cruiser in the stable?

thanks for the comments! Ya, my dad has the sickness too.. but we are getting rid of the Fj40 because we need room in our garage to work on the 60.

OK, we ordered the OME lift kit..should we go with a spring over lift or a shackle lift? or both?
Also, what wheels should i get?
thanks, Ty

the fj40 is beige, $ 9,000, 114,000 miles, three on the tree
- 1970
- frame up restoration
- body is great
- 4wheel drive isn't working because the pin is sheared, but its an easy fix

I power washed the wheel wells.... I also ordered the OME lift kit, it should be here by next week.
should i do the spring over, or the shackle lift? Maybe both?

The OME will accommodate up to 33 inch tires with no problems. With a SOA, you will be tempted to go bigger which means YOU WILL HAVE TO REGEAR! Unless you are building a serious rig meant primarily for off road, stay with a SUA with the OME. You will still be able to go a lot of rough places. Don't go with SOA just for the "look at me" effect.

Thanks for all the comments...
The FJ40 is gone.....so more room in the garage to work on the 60!!
OK, some updates:
-got some new rear mudflaps
-new fj62 mirrors
-a new mega warrior rack.
all we need is the lift kit(on its way) and she will be beautiful!
I will try to keep u guys posted.

Thanks, Ty

A lot of us with a landCruiser addiction also have a (old air cooled) VW addiction.

Dynosoar:zilla:

Good looking Cruiser, dude! Have fun and welcome to the addiction:)

Thanks. We took this up to grouse ridge a week after we got it. it performed great until we got stuck in a snow bank, but that was because of the low clearance. i will post some pics. Yep, VWs are sick little cars....man sooo fun to work on.
