Hi,
I have problem that my non-usa FJ62 that can't idle.
Carb. 3F motor, no emission control, manual choke.

She runs well but idling is only problem.
I suppose it's carb problem.
When idling, rpm is 200~300 that stalls much and died often.
When I pull the choke, fast idling is good.

I checked below.

1. Fuel supply : no problem.
2. float level : no problem.
3. Fuel cut solenoid valve : operates well.

After various testing, I suppose it's caused by not enough vaporized gas is supplied to motor when idling but I'm not ensure.

Do you guys have any opinion about this problem ?

Did you try adjusting the idle screw on the carb? Just a guess.

Yes, I already tried adjust idle screw and idle mixture screw but that's not reason.

Air leaks around the carb or in the vacuum can cause that.
I checked air and vacuum leak first but I couldn't find and my carb has only one vacuum port which goes to dizzy's advance port.
It's no emission carb that very simple.

Hmmm, fuel filter, float adjustment, clogged jet, gummed up throttle linkage.

How much could a new carb that simple cost?

I searched about idling problem in this forum and checked everything I can find.
I also checked what you said.
I also read 3F engine FSM but still I can't figure out.
This problem was start from 3 days before.
I suppose this problem is caused on idle circuit in carburetor that removed air-horn(top portion of carburetor) assy. and checked and cleaned.
Also checked fuel cut solenoid valve and float.
I cleaned idle passage using with carb cleaner and compressed air but I can't solve yet.

Make sure the idle jet is totally clear. It is one of the long brass tubes in the main body. you should be able to see through it and see that it is clean.

Also, check the timing, just to be sure the distributor has not moved.

Thank you Jim,

I already cleaned two slow jets(Idle jet) from main body and one from air-horn also.
I removed carb from intake manifold and removed air-horn.
But I don't have correct SST that didn't disassemble carb entirely.
I cleaned all mixture passage and hole as well as idle jets using with spray carb cleaner.
But it still stall.
Regarding timing, ignition timing is good condition. I check and adjust ignition timing every month.

Anyway, thank you !
