The engine hesitates only when making semi-aggresive left-hand turns. Happens since I purchased and restored my 1976 CAL FJ40.

Truck did not run prior to restoring (missing carb), but only had 50,000 original miles.

Tried filling fuel tank completly full.- No help!
Fuel filter only a 1000 miles old!
Fuel pump only 1000 miles old!
Fuel tank new from Toyota Dealer 1000 miles ago!
OEM Carb new from SOR 1000 miles ago!

Anybody come across this?
Thanks

are you running power steering?

Bad motor mount.

When you say "hesitates" you are experiencing sudden loss of power that makes the car jerk or does it loose part of the power. Jerking is generally electrical, partial loss is generaly gas starvation in the carb.

I will check the float level in the carb. Sounds like your heading me in the right direction because I never made any adjustments to the new Aisan carb after installing it.

Motor mounts are in ok shape, but I don't see how they would cause the engine to hesitate. Can you explain a little? Thanks.

It more or less fits your fuel starvation description. You bring up good questions and answers. Thanks

Thanks, Nofear
