Spent some time today. Polishing things up on the old girl .

This is better than Christmas. I honestly had no idea what all was with this and I didn’t even really look it was dark and I had a long drive to get home

Fast forward a couple months. Jeff @Firemedic831 ended up getting the 40 bug bad. In just a few months, Blue 40 was there, he bought Red 40, V8 40 and a parts 40. As most of you know 1 40 build is crazy. Multiple 40 builds can take your wallet and drain it dry like Death Valley! Jeff reluctantly gave me the keys to Red!. Here's a few pics headed to Florida. Also, had to stop by and see my bud Jason @TRAIL TAILOR ! @ToyotaMatt

I think to put this trip into perspective . Mikes Flight came in at Midnight . Now this normally would not be a issue but i was only a few weeks post op from having Major emergency back surgery Lucky the airport is close to my house as i was not supposed to be driven then . We had to run down to Jasons ( Trail Taylor ) that morning then get back and get things loaded so Mike could hit the road he had a 3500 mile trip in front of him . Before we could go down to Trail Taylor we ( Mike ) needed to help me ( i watched ) take a 40 tub off the trailer and then load a Off Road trailer onto the trailer . Plus a large crate full of axles and wheels that had been shipped to my place . Mike got everything loaded i dont even think we checked the tire pressure on the 40 and that was it had dinner and he hit the road sometime in the middle of the night .

After I got home I noticed a few rust gremlins. I live near the coast, the rust gremlins are relentless. Down the rabbit hole we go.

Sorry, until you start unbolting things and cutting sheet metal, you haven’t even got close to the rabbit hole, let alone entered it. 😝

Decided to throw it on the lift, bolt on a new suspension. Really just want to have a run around town beach truck for the wife. She runs pretty good. I'll do stuff little by little. All in all she's a solid girl!

While @lcwizard shop I grabbed a front bumper. Fresh from the powder. The tow bar was retired. Both tires are 35 inches, BFG AT and SIMEX!

Started pulling small parts and refreshing them! @ToyotaMatt new rad cap! I wanted to build a vintage 80s style 40. This windshield decal popped up on ebay.

Not sure of the wheel manufacturer. In high school I had a set of them on my 1987 4Runner with a @Downey Pro Desert grand slam! Cica 1992. I had OMF beadlock them years ago. I believe OMF bought out Champion Beadlock. Love the 200 series!
