Ok, I referred back to trappers pics, on page 10, but I am having trouble following a couple of the vac lines, and want to make sure mine are hooked up right. Pretty sure that I have the drivers side right at this point, but not so sure about the distributor side. Anybody have a really clear picture of where everything is going from that side? I'll try to post up pics of mine later to see if anybody sees anything wrong, but was trying to wait until I got pretty shiny new vac hoses.
Primary vacuum is to the inside (towards valve cover) of the carb (middle low port/2nd from left) and secondary vacuum is to atmosphere (top of aircleaner 3 prong above carb)
we just replicated this desmog on a buddies 87 and its running great.
Drove mine some yesterday. It had a slight hesitation so had a buddy check timing and it was retarded so we bumped it up to 7degrees and there was still a hesitation so backed it off to about 4 degrees i would say and she runs pretty good. I would imagine after the carb rebuild it will really run good.
I figured out my hesitation/miss. The idea poped in my head at 3am i guess while dreaming I pulled out my wiring diagram and figured out my fuel cut switch needed a ground. since i removed the bracket it was on i had just ziptied it up but i ran a ground wire to it and sure enough that was it.
if you have a slight hesitation or like a mis while just crusing then i would say that is it. I have been driving mine like that for a month and even took it wheeling. kinda frustrating while putting along and its acting funny.
Use a sharp chisel to shear off the rusty tube right on top of the nut.I am in the process of studying this entire thread and learning the respective diagrams. I started tearing into this tonight. Anyone have advice for getting off the air rail fitting closest to the firewall? I can't seem to get a stubby or standard 17mm back in there, even with everything out of the way.
