we all know that some of you go gaga over overseas models

so my brothers hj45 troopy is fairly stock, on 33 claws, and he's getting bored,

    his plans

    sprung over
    36 boggers
    dual t-cases
and he's going to bob it, cut the chassis off right behind the shackles and run a huge beefy X member there. body will be cut back and the rear section rejoined to make it look stockish.

it'l be finished in dark red, and probably have the floor raised a few inches to clear some massive rubber...

    so bastardisation or what?

Sacreligious! You can't bob a troopie! Are you on crack or something? Get a 40 series and be done with it.

ok, planning stages (a la photoshop)

by the way, he's got a surgen liined up, and cash is all that's holding him back right now

he likes the troopy version... the pickup isn't going down well with anyone

oh this thing will be tubbed so it can run 35's without scrubbing on stock springs, probably have a completely flat floor so he can take the roof off and transport a motor bike or two (with a bikini top or soft top over the cage over the driver)

40 Series Ute conversions, certainly do look s***e. I also agree that Troop Carriers have a huge overhang.
I also like a Wheelbase longer than an 80 Series, like my Hilux. :grinpimp:

    personal opinion:
    waste of a troopie.
    stretch a 40 instead.
    cheers

    in aus

buying a shorty = 3 grand (if it is road legal) then dealing with the P.O's mistakes, then doing the work... that's for a petrol, to get a diesel one, well... not everyone has the money to switch projects... this is his DD as well.

he owns the 45 inherited it from me, and is getting it running. that's why he isn't stretching a 40.

his idea is to get rid of the overhang... so he can wheel the snot out of it. sounds like what it shoulda been designe d to do from the start :D

we'll see where it takes him.

gotta say i like the looks of the rover one but there seems to be no room for the springs out the back... unless he is going coil...
    cheers

coil is another option with 80 series diffs, but i dont think he'll do that straight away

you can't see it in the resized picks, but the thing was basically cut off right behind the spring hangers

I seen auto traders from OZ that had 55's for pretty cheap.

It just kills me to cut up a troopie. Can't say what I'd do to own one someday.Trade me that troopie for my 1980 40.Cut it up all ya want.Just twitchin over here.sorry.....
