Hi fellow FJ'ers. I've been lurking since I started my FJ60 restoration and I wanted to take a moment to share the almost final results of my (work interrupted) year plus project.
I love this forum and the respectful discussion and banter on all things FJ. It has helped me figure out a few details as I worked through my rebuild and also discover some great vendors.
I'll chime back later with a vendor shout out that helped make the build a success. As well as some vendor pitfalls selling shoddy parts..
The foundation was very solid, zero rust, which on the east coast I appreciate.
Truck seems to have spent its life in california and AZ so it was really nice not needing a welding torch to take her apart for the restoration. Interior and exterior, including windows were gutted and prepped for paint. Sound deadening material was also applied everywhere in the interior. All suspension and steering components replaced or updated, the list is endless...
Without too much blather here are some before and after pics...BRG is the after pics
.
Here are a few pics from the start middle and end.
My next mission is to connect with some local FJ'rs and hit the trails....not too muddy though.. Ha ha.
