I hung out with Chris for a bit this weekend so I figured I post up some pics of his mischief.

That spring got like that from rolling back down the ledge. It snapped back down when I got pulled foreward a bit.

The passenger shackle looks like a ~ but the spring looks no worse for the wear :D

Here is the shackle.Fixed it yesterday :D

Well I hope this is the cure to my running hot...
toyota_013x.jpg

This did absolutely nothing for my overheating :frown: Is 250 hot ?

Threw on an engine driven fan.It overheated faster :frown:

So I pulled the thermostat and checked it.It fully opened. So I put it all back together with no Tstat and the engine driven fan n took it for a spin.100deg. outside and driving in traffic it never went past 150 :bounce::bounce::bounce: I could actually touch my console and not burn my hand :D

I put the electric setup back on yesteday and we will see how it does in Hollister next week :grinpimp:

It ran hot no matter what the outside temp was.It was cold and snowing memorial weekend and it was running 240+.Im glad I have iron heads as many times as I have overheated this thing since the body swap :D

My electric fans are on a thermostatic switch so that will help keep it warm in the winter :D

Not really an addict, its close, its open all year round, and a good place to go to get a wheelin fix.Not my fave, but it works when I need to get out :D

Goin to Hollister this week, the Rubicon over Labor Day,maybe a Coyote Lake trip in Sept, and Dusy all the way through in Oct if all goes well :grinpimp:

Ran part of Dusy the weekend before last with the wife and the new baby in her FJC :hillbilly: Went up with Weak-link n Freds40 and one of his daughters. My wife said I could do whatever I wanted as long as I didnt scratch anything you could see. This trip that rule changed to if its not painted I can scratch it.Good thing cuz I got the plastic on the bottom of both rockers :D

That's strange. What temp was you tstat? I wonder if you have blockage in the motor somewhere and the water isn't moving right with the tstat in.

Its a 180.I checked it and it starts opening around 180 and it does fully open. This motor has close to 300k miles on it and I have never seen it get hot until the body swap. With the truck body I had a less efficient radiator, less CFM electric fan,a shroud that covered less than 2/3s of the radiator, and it never overheated. Not even crawling at the hammers or in Moab in the summer.

The only thing I can think is that the engine compartment in the Chevy was very open with no wheel wells. The 55 engine compartment is very small and closed up :hmm:

Next weekend will be a good test for it :D
