On Tuesday I had to make a run up to our neighborhood IGA supermarket to pick up a dozen tortillias for Taco dinner....when walking back to my 45 a noticed a gal standing very close to my rig. As I got closer she asked "is this yor truck"? After telling her yes, she calls over....MARK.. from an area in the parking lot...that somehow I missed all the commotion..they were doing a photo shoot at the end of the lot....for new FORDs...He went on and on about how much he loved my truck.....and would I consider using it in advertising?? After some questions on both sides...he took at least a dozen pictures and gave him my info.......

This morning I get a call from him....saying he has two dates lined up already....one for a GAP commercial (static) and another for printed advertisement of some kind...

Sounds like I may get a $$ and timeline boost for my resto

2 cool

HOLLYWOOD

A STAR IS BORN-you will need to get some giant sunglasses for the front of your rig now it's going to be a star.
Only in CA. Have fun.

Thanks ...will keep you all posted

Sundance uses old trucks all the time in their catalogs. My wife gets these all the time. When the catalogs arrive in the mail I always check to see what they are using for their props. Latest catalog had a 60's dogde pickup. Someone who lives in Utah should contact them and show them what a real truck looks like. :D

Hopefully this new born stardom won't go to your head and you leave all us common folks behind.

No one is common who ownes a LANDCRUISER :hillbilly:

But of course I wont forget the little people :grinpimp:

The 4x4 truck awards for best parking, driving, best supporting truck, and sexy color will be held this year in L.A., good luck. :bounce::clap::cheers:

I always love it when I see Landcruisers in ads. There is one with Jeff Corwin for Claritin that has a FJ40 in it. Not a fan of Corwin but the 40 looked nice.

Ya I've seen that one......

He's a pretty nice guy, met him about about 6-7yrs ago at LAX when he walked over to us and asked (verry embarrassed) if he could borrow a diaper....seems he left his sons diaper bag on the last flight.. our kids played and we talked till our flight was called..pretty cool guy...

Hey Chris, now that this is an income producing rig the mileage to and from pictures shoots should be tax detuctible and and repairs to keep this money making rig going should be tax deductible as well, at least in my whole hearted opinion. I would until the IRS proved I couldn't. Look at all the cool stuff you buy and write off !?!?!?!
