On my deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan I got to see the Land Cruiser being used in different capacities and eventually I got the chance to buy a LC and decided to give it an overseas vibe. Went with a Pintle hitch so I can use a kinetic recovery rope when I go off-roading. I added an ARB roof rack and I had a X Antenna I'm playing around with to see if I can get it to work for Sat Nav. I recently picked up Black Rhino Armory Wheels in Tan color which I personally like a lot but I know they aren't everyones cup of tea. I am running stock sized BFGoodrich KO2 tires on them but will go a slightly larger size once I get a lift.
I plan on adding a new things, OME Suspension, ARB rear Drawer system, rail sliders and a few other things.

How did they hold up over there under those circumstances and conditions?
We used and I had seen a mix of armored and non armored LC’s. Most handled great, only issues I saw was suspension would wear out a little faster due to the excess gear loaded in them and the dusting from the air box but other than that the LC we used in theaters held up much better than our humvees.

Toyotas in general handled Afghanistan immensely better than all the HMMWVs in my experience as well. Dust was a major issue as it was as fine as Talcum powder and got EVERYWHERE.
The Toyotas I used required zero maintenance compared to all brands of vehicles we took over.
My time in Kandahar gave me a new found appreciation for Toyotas.

To OP did you imported yours? I see your hubs have 6 nuts, while ours are 5.
No, mines 5 lugs. The Black rhino Armory wheels have these fake lugs to mimic military style wheels. Under the center black cap is access to the actual lugs

Don't carry a snatch strap zip-tied to your bumper. Dirt and grime will compromise its strength in no time, if not outright destroy it. Dirt will also get in between the strap and bumper cover, and damage the paint. That's assuming some passing-by crackhead doesn't steal it first.

It’s only strapped when I go to the off road park here. Typically it sits in my pelican case with my snatch rope in my vehicle.

I like it. Now don’t wash it for 3 years for that authentic deployment look.

@77CJ5 has to be one of the most versed experts on up-armored LCs on the planet. Check out his photos in the 200 Series Photos thread. He could probably tell you anything you need to know on top of the experience you already have. Rad concept!

Thanks! I'll have to check out his pictures.
