My long term project is a FJ40 with Mercedes Benz 5 cylinder OM617 turbo, with a mechanical injection pump so it should also be "multifuel" but I plan on just diesel, biodiesel, and/or SVO.

I've got the major components (engine, 5 speed transmission, dual cases, and engine/trans adapter, and the 1974 FJ40). I just need a dual case adapter, suspension, and the time to make it look pretty!

Anyone out there in NC doing multi fuel engine conversions?

It appears the 6.2 and 6.5 turbo diesels can be converted to a mechanical IP and run on almost anything that will burn, diesel, gas, kerosene, atf, etc.

Range Rover converted to Military 6.2 multi fuel. He is running ATF.

All 6.2's are mechanical injection pumps, 2 years of the 6.5's were.... but can be converted easily

There is a 6.2 sitting in the driveway that will eventually migrate to the 80.... there is also my dd a 87 diesel mercedes that will run on just about anything.

My 89 Jetta runs on Diesel and WVO, but my secondary fuel system should be able to handle any type of oil. Used motor oil, used ATF, etc. Just throw it in and drive!

Once I get this 4BTA in Moonshine, I'll figure out a secondary fuel system for her and I'll be burning WVO for free out of both vehicles:grinpimp:

I've been building an overly-complicated WVO transfer / filter setup that will be complete as soon as I wire in my 1200w inverter.
