Those 80's are awesome trucks!

Good thing the spotters didn't mid holding down the trucks so the wheels wouldn't reach for the sky.

Looks like a great trip! Sorry I missed it. I need to figure out a way to free up some trail time.
 
So cool to see that thing with a fully loaded roof rack and all the seats taken, and still crawl through a wheel hang like that!

Ali thinks I am being anti social but I have no pictures or videos other then the ones already posted. I would like to thank everyone for a great time and all the help on the trail, especially Shawn for all the spotting he did for me and Brock for being my co-pilot. Thanks for all the videos and I learned a lot from you guys. I look forward to the next one, and my morning coffee, thanks Ali!

So glad you had an empty roof rack cause it was plum full!
 
it's all team work! I have the plan for having my truck ready next time. total new fuel and cooling system.

I wish I could do it again, but I sorta blew my budget.
If you are serious, I THINK Rising Sun guys are going next weekend, you might check w them - Blanca - Rising Sun Member Forums

Properly spotted, with some rock stacking and a bit of slider grinding , I think your 4Runner would be capable of doing it. You'd know on the first obstacle.
 
I think I want to do it again this year before the snow flies
 
Why not run up to Farmington? Some good trails to do here as well.

Sandstone, Wild to mild, some high speed dirt and sand sections, big walls. Kind of like wheeling in Moab but instead of driving miles between obstacles they are one right after another.

Ooooo, ya! I don't think my junks capable of much of that, but I'd sure like to try
 
I lived there from 2002 - 2004. There's plenty of non-buggy stuff. I cut my off-roading teeth in "The Glade" with a stock Tacoma out there. It's also right next to town, which is really convenient. It's serious enough terrain that big time rock crawling competitions are held there. And if you wanted to turn it into a weekend family trip you could make day trips out of Farmington to places like the San Juan River, Durango or Chaco Canyon. Even Mesa Verde is possible for a day trip but it's about 3 hours one way. I'm considering retiring in that general area.

Put something together that the 80's can do and watch some more extreme stuff(not quite buggy) and I will be there. I want to run the Glade and Choke Cherry
