MSDS Question

When I was a chemist, we'd get a MSDS for gallon jugs of distilled water we bought for liquid chromatography.

I deal with MSHA, they want msds on everything. Even diesel in my pickup transfer tanks and windex.

I completely forgot about the fuel in the fuel cabinet.

I have the MSDS on Windex, Gojo Hand Cleaner and WD 40.

I may just write and enforce a policy that anything the janitorial service brings in they must provide the MSDS on it. Same goes for the rest of the staff. I just cannot find MSDS on some of the products. I will follow the link nomembername posted and see if I can find more of them.

Without reading the whole two pages of replies, on hazmat jobs they have to have an MSDS sheet for every product on the job.

It took a few days but I got the MSDS on everything, including the Liquid Paper Whiteout.

Another headache is dealing with trade names. Once the patent expired on Roundup (for instance),everyone has their own lable for Glyphosate (active ingredient). Products from venders can change week to week due to cost. I have to have a seperate MSDS sheet for each manufacture even though the percentage of ingredients is the same.

Long story short, I you use Windex, stick with it unless you want to add another MSDS sheet into your book.

I made a lot of people unhappy when I sent the memo out that we have MSDS on everything we have. If they bring anything into the facility they are required to provide the MSDS on it. If they do not, they will be responsible for paying the fine should we get citation during an audit.

As a joke I did one up for snow, I volunteer ski-patrol. That stuff is deadly.
