FTR, the 24v unit is about 20% more expensive and available in stock in Calgary.

If the Golf had only one battery, that might be a problem but only if you didn't have the Webasto timer. Coolant capacity... not sure. Its conceivable that the start stop cycles were short enough to cause a problem with the heater. I'd find somebody who knows these things and get a second opinion on the repair. The 12v one runs fine off a 24 -12 volt converter, you should put it on your BJ70

I priced the espar, so I wanna know how much is a Webasto going for? now I may be cheapish. but I had a quote of pretty much 2k. is that how much you guys spent on yours?

I am sure they are great an all, but thats a lot of coin. Definately for guys with 0 chance of a plug in.

let me know if you got a good contact for those babies.

That's a fair price if it came with the timer and installed. The last ones I sold were about $1200 plus the timer IIRC

ahh you sold them. so you aren't paying 1200 for them.

maybe the 2k is a good deal. but I find that a lot of money....... so I hope they are wonderful devices.

I would like to try one out....got a demo one?? ya right eh?

Touched up the black bits today. Stewing about weather I want to wet sand and spray the white yet again. Just too much orange peel for my liking. Prolly easier to sand and respray than to sand and polish.

Looking good, I noticed the orange peel in the photos of the windshiled frame.

I have had this problem a couple times, little more thinner seemed to help it flow out better.

Only down side of thinning is the possibility of running, nice light coats.

The guy who tought me how to spray thinned his paint quite a bit, mind you I have never seen him run paint ever.

What kinda paint did you use? and what code?

I am going to be going white real quick. I was going to go Toyota natural white. But not for sure.

Looking good. Personally I would not worry about a little orange peel. The factory paint job had quite a bit on my cruiser. Thats just the way they are.

I can't remember the paint code... 130 maybe? The paint is PPG concept and while this is not the first time I've shot it I just haven't got it figured out yet. There was a host of problems with this paintjob. It was too hot in the shop, I couldn't see the white paint going on no matter how many lights I had. (I prefer to shoot darker colors) I had the wrong nozzle in the gun and most importantly, I'm a rookie.

Anyway, I decided to wet sand and cut polish. Its working out ok. I'll start a new thread with a how to once I am done.

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions.
