I have a prisnu style rack so flat aluminum cross bars and I need to fab up some brackets to hold the alu cab down on it. But I cannot find anything ready made. Does anyone have a solid idea. Not ready to cut roof off yet here’s some pics of what alu cab gives you to mount from and what I’m trying to mount to. Thanks

no no i got it, its not bad just not normal Ill post up install

Was there not a way to use the supplied brackets? You really only need to use the two brackets on each side. I mounted mine to the Alu-cab load bars, but I had to use 3 bars since the 100 series stock rack mount are too close together.

Yes Im using the supplied brackets your showing but im using them underneath on a prisnu style rack.

Awesome seeing an eighty owner with an AC GEN 3 - any pics around how the looks are?
I will mount my long awaited one tomorrow ... on Rhino Rack HD bars - wondering how much of a hassle this will be

Mounted it on Rhino HD bars. Just make some "sliding grove nuts" (sry dunno exact word for this) from some 35x120x10 aluminum flat rod with two M8 threads in them. Easy as cake. If you show me the profile of your bars, I can CAD something for you.

Front take an L shaped flat rod.

Or, just drill two holes each supplied bracket and add flat rod from below. Sandwich style.

i think you see mounts here. I used what alu cab supplied and you cant see them unless you look under RTT

I watched it once but didn't see it. I'll take another look.

I see now. You modified the supplied brackets?

Hey Otter, curious what you ended up doing as I also have the same tent and I have a prinsu rack as well

There are pics of mine mounted on 3 load bars up above. I now have it mounted to the Dissent roof rack. I was able to use the supplied mounting brackets and the hardware built into the roof rack. I did use some homemade brackets at the front, which I'd made for the load bar setup. Those are basically short pieces of 1 inch angle steel from Home Depot. It's worked out pretty well for me, and it's super solid.

Bumping an old thread....

Has anyone mounted an Alu-Cab Expedition Gen 3 RTT on a Prinsu Rack without modifying the Prinsu rack and keeping the light bar?

It appears that @RFB has holes drilled in the side rails that are lower than the precut slots that I have on my Prinsu rack & that the RTT bottom rails are sitting in the Light bar location.

These tents are probably one of the best built out there, but beyond a PITA to mount. That said it is still what I want to run on top of my 5th Gen 4Runner. Considering a direct mount option utilizing 2 Alu Cab load bars that Tiny Rig in Westminster, CA offers.

I have a 3.1 and love it. Since I dont have friends where I live, I am a redneck surrounded by yuppie city folks, I had the guys at Juniper Overland install it. They charged me less than $200 to do the entire install. Downside was the 8 hour drive to get to them, but they are my closest dealer.

Hey Richie, wondering how you mounted the Gen 3 to the top of the r new rig, the TRD Pro? Also looking forward to you posting up a build video, the power brakes look impressive. Tom

Hey guys. I know this thread is old, but I’m trying to fab up some brackets for my bowfin rack to mount my gen 3r Alucab. RFB, how did u modify the load bars and fab brackets? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
