Oh, drew, since you just bought a new welder didn't they include a card to let you get the Miller set of books cheap and a denim jacket for free?
Get both. If you're not into denim jackets pick a size that fit your kid/wife/friend/whatever - it's a nice well made thing. And there are few books as good as the Miller tutorial set. They're in the website under 'education' to chose from if they no longer offer the discount to new owners.
Get Tillman clothes. I have a leather jacket and a fireproof dark blue shirt. You don't have to look like a hospital orderly in those ugly green things. The Indiana Oxygen Company (IOC) in ebay is an awesome and totally reliable seller.
Miller helmets are overrated. I have one but keep using my $50. HF special because it's totally solar powered and completely simple.
If you weld in flipflops deal with the pain. The burning embers WILL go out.
edit: I just saw the post containing info about current Lincoln wire drives. That was not the case years ago, and the info definitely would alter my previous statement about lincoln over miller. If I have a beef with miller it's their proprietary ways. You have a miller you have to use miller consumables and pay miller prices for them.
