The rear hard top sides have the only cancer. The original owner put a boat rack on it.

Any plans to address the cancer? Have similar situation in same place on my 78 and just dropped it off for metal replacement. Debated for a long time on doing this as it’s otherwise mostly original. Just can’t stand rust and difficult to control once started in our humid South Tx climate.

Congrats on the 40! Looking forward to following your work on this one!

When I get around to taking the top off I will deal with it somehow. For now I’ll oil it up to keep more from happening and keep it covered

Finished up my latest shop project and am going to spend the day with Moe Green

Still on the exterior. Grill and windshield but the grill must be cleaned inside and out because I would suck if I didn’t.

I love how original and unmolested this thing is.

It’s all finished on the body. Going to do the interior next. It’s pretty dirty but should clean up nicely.

Done for the day.

1/2 of this thing is done. I’ll pull the seats and the fuel tank stuff out next time I get to work on it and get this interior back in fighting shape

Was able to hop over to Moe Green this afternoon.

Pulled the seats and fuel tank cover out and went to town.

Found one 22 magnum and two 30-06 shells. One for night. Two for day.

But damn it’s cleaning up nice with zero cancer

funny how the mats are a better way to tell the past usage then the odometers
True. And you can tell drivers style when you pick them apart.

May and heat gunk have the most wear at the heel to me means the original owner was a boot man.

Brake and clutch pedal pads are original and have very little wear.

Got the interior mostly finished. I’m recovering the seat bases with gray Cruiser Corps covers and then I’ll be done. This thing cleaned up beautifully

What do you put on your mats after you clean them anything? Personally I can’t handle armor all too slippery just wondered if you had something else that worked well

Nope. It’s all slippery. I use a light coat of fluid film because it soaks in a a stays black longer than tire shine stuff.

Finished. Took the seats all apart and got the Cruiser Corps covers installed. Pretty good match.

Also the glove box produced the original manual …..

I’m just glad we’ve moved past the 4Runner wheel debacle in the thread 😂. Rig is looking amazing. How are the door gaskets, window runs?
Haha. They are off to a good home.

The driver door does not rattle but the passenger one does.

I need to put some Phat OEM gaskets on it
