In my impatience, I just used a trim tool to test the outcome of prying to answer my own question, but can't find the way to delete the thread. Sorry for the clutter.
I searched. My search terms must be wrong. It is a 2016. I got the lights on the rear quarter panels out fine. Now I want to take off the ones on the hatch. I removed the three plastic nuts visible from the hatch. There is some resistance to removal. I'm guessing there is just a trim clip or something holding them now, but wanted to ask before I break a part. Thanks in advance!
Yup, just a trim clip. Gentle trim tool prying solved the mystery.
