Can someone give me or point me to a summarty of Land Cruiser model numbers. I am looking to buy on AutoTrader but only years are given. Are all 93's FZJ80's? i was told to avoid the 90 series but I see no such numbers? Are all 93-97's 80's?

Cheers,

Mike Stevens

the 80 series runs from 91 to 97, the 91 and 92 are know as FJ-80, and have the 3FE engine, the 93-97 Land Cruiser and 96-97 Lexus LX-450 are known as FZJ-80, and have the 1FZ-FE engine

the UZJ-100 runs from 98 to present in both Land Cruiser and LX-470 forms

before the 80 was the FJ-60 (carberated) and FJ-62 (fuel injected)

there was a 70 series not sold in the US, no 90 series were ever sold in the US,

Not to complicate anything but the above is JUST for US Spec Land Cruisers....as some places in the world you can get a 2005 FZJ 80...:( but not in the US...:(

Enjoy,

Uh, me thinks Yooper must be biased since that site starts with 55's

Stevens, if you post up a good idea of what you're looking, there's enough knowledgeable folks here that could help you narrow down what to look for. I'm tempted to move this to chat, not because it's chatty, but because you'd get a more rounded answer.

Yeah, I think the above was just meant to cover a few of the basic specs for the more recent wagons, certainly not every LC.
