As in hours of off camber rocking over sandstone. No shade.

I’m going back and forth on this. Likely, 100*+ with wife and two kids. Thrown in that’s it looks to be 4 hours from Moab and 7 hours from Telluride. It will be an epic time though.

OK. :) I kinda feel like that's Moab in general. And ya, wasn't my wife's favorite. She likes green scenery best.

Imodium works wonders when camping

@TexAZ i may have an open seat too.

Sounds like a plan amigo! From that it sounds like HITR it is. @steenh I am guessing we will be camping the entire time in Moab? Thoughts?

The trailhead is 4 hours from Telluride and 2 hours and 40 minutes to Moab. You may be looking at Hole In The Rock Road?

Other than the high potential for heat and guaranteed lack of amenities, the trail itself isn't as rough as I'm thinking you all have in your heads. There are a few long stretches of rough stuff, but not that much off-camber driving at all, and intermixed into that are some nice easy stretches.

I'll be buying an awning for shade, and have a portable toilet/bathroom tent for just this purpose. May load up on water too for a shower for the wifey.

@Willy beamin, you can pull me off the maybe list. I want to at least have sliders before I give HITR a go, thanks for extending the invite to a 100 series guy.

ok man - go get geared up and jump back on the list if you can - take care

Candice is interested. I am hoping she won’t be working by then and won’t feel like her time off is so precious. I bought a Foxwing for $475 shipped from XVenture Trailers just yesterday. They are closing them out. Smoking deal!

I think this is the trail.

Yes, that is correct.

How about a little commitment from the wife??? It's only 5 months off! I saw that foxwing and it was sold out yesterday. You generated too much interest. I am looking seriously at the EeziAwn. Saw it at Expo on Paul's truck and talked about it a bit. Really nice but big $$.

Not sure if you’re referring to the Series 2000? If so, it’s an awesome awning but absolutely requires two people to deploy given the automatic roller.

Hmmm... that's not what I wanted to hear but not often I'd need to deploy by myself I guess. How did you end up mounting it? They suggested bolting direct to the rack (I have the F/R) for stability.

The line on the map makes it look easy than it is. Although a great trail dont underestimate HITR trail with no EMS and nothing is close if you are in need. Hell Revenge is a walk in the park compared to HIRT IMO.
