A couple of Evan in Mirror Gulch.

Jon - Nice pics! Where did these come from - I thought your camera was broken?

I still owe some pics from Moab. Been too busy lately trying to clear trees and brush from around the house - that Trigo fire has me nervous.

Let's try a picture...

This is the opening "gate-keeper" on Behind the Rocks. As is the norm, the picture doesn't do it justice. This is the trail leader - Dave Brown - driving his 40 aka "Red Fox." He gets a ways up the hill before he lifts a front wheel. Sounds like a trick that Jon tried last year in his 4Runner...

And a few more...

Sorry I've got this one picture sideways. I need a lesson from some of you Mud pros. I think this is actually the first time I've posted any pictures to Mud, and it shows...

But I think they look pretty good, besides that, don't you think?

I was nervous about him backing down and we were able to convince him to pull the cable and winch the rest of the way to the top...

And he went OK from there...

This "little 80" was on a six inch lift and 37 inch MTRs. Very nice truck...

More pictures later...

Post more ...I'll be doing this trail in a few weeks for the first time.

Jim - You'll like it! This was my second time running it. We did it last year in October with about 6 trucks from HDC. Just be careful on "High Dive" - that's the closest I've ever come to rolling my truck. Oh yeah, it would have been an end-over-end roll, not a side-to-side roll. Needless to say, I skipped that obstacle this time around. Luckily, there's a bypass.

The trail's a blast, but I thought it was pretty technical in spots. I'll get some more pics up later today.

Evan

It's on my Oct list if anyone else can stand running it again!

Here's a few more pics - here's some optional ledges on Behind the Rocks. My 80 went down these with no problem.

Here's the infamous High Dive on Behind the Rocks. I did it last fall and that was my first and last time on this one. The last picture is about where I was when I almost bit it. Got the old adrenaline flowing!

Here's a few of my truck approaching and going down White Knuckle Hill. It's an adventure just getting there, and there's no bypass. This is one of those you look at and say NO WAY!

Everybody got a strap on the rear bumper with four or five guys holding on just to keep the back end in touch with terra firma.

Here's just a few from Moab Rim - mostly scenery shots. Beautiful surroundings, but lots of off-camber along the cliff edge. Made me nervous...

That's all I've got from this trip, but I can't wait to go back!

OK, just a couple more - here's the only 100 series on the trail with us that day. He ended up turning around and exiting upon having problems with his steering. I think he made the right choice - this is not a good trail to have steering problems!

You can get a good feel here for how the left side of the trail just ends into nothingness - several hundred feet down to the road and the river...

And the last one is a series of ledges - the Z-turn, as it's called. On Moab Rim, you get to enjoy this stuff on the way up AND the way down.

This one got a little dark in the shade, but you get the idea.
