Mirror motor issue

For my 2011 lx 570, the passenger side mirror motor seem to have issue reaching its full open position.
It closes fine but when its supposed to open and stop, instead of stopping it keeps winding at full open position.

Not sure if previous owner had a hit on the mirror or what went wrong, the motor is currently disconnected and fully open.

Do you think if I replace the mirror body and the arm which connects the mirror to door, it will be fine or the motor needs replacement? (The dealer quoted $2000 for mirror replacement with motor etc).

Can post pics if anyone knows the mirror details and what what could go wrong.

I’d be looking on eBay for a new to you part. But I’d also check out this thread first. I think mirror actuator issues a somewhat common.

Sounds similar to what my side mirror was doing. The retrac actuator went bad. You can replace it and the cost is a lot less than a whole new mirror. He's my thread on the topic.
